The International Association of Smart Learning Environments (IASLE), in collaboration with NetDragon Websoft, is pleased to announce the selection of three outstanding teams for our collaborative research project focused on advancing smart learning environments.

Project Overview

As we navigate an era where intelligent technologies like Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are rapidly transforming society, the educational landscape must evolve accordingly. This project aims to explore innovative approaches to education by:

On-Demand Learning and Smart Learning: Investigating the conceptual frameworks and practical implementations of on-demand learning, particularly how it integrates with smart learning environments to personalize and enhance the learning experience.

AIGC Applications in Education: Evaluating the potential of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content in educational settings, including its uses in teaching, assessment, and the creation of learning resources.

Selected Teams

After a thorough selection process, we are excited to introduce the following teams:

RAG-Tutor Design and evaluation of a RAG-based Tutor for on-Demand Learning: Led by Prof. Daniel Burgos from Research Institute for Innovation & Technology in Education (UNIR iTED). Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR)(Spain).

Leveraging Conversational Artificial Intelligence for teaching and learning in Higher Education Institutions: Led by Dr. Stavros Nikou and Prof. Maiga Chang from University of Strathclyde (UK) and Athabasca University (Canada).

Research on the Modes and Impacts of Generative Artificial Intelligence Enabling University Students’ Participation in Multimodal Teaching Resource Creation: Led by Prof. Huang Wen from Beihang University (China).

These teams will spearhead theoretical and applied research, contributing to joint publications and advancing our understanding of effective smart learning strategies.
